Easter Weekend

Easter is here and this year our family is going to a restaurant for lunch- since our parents are still in Florida (lucky them). I'm just glad I wont have to cook or clean.
I put together these baskets for my Nephews. I made sure all the chocolates were peanut-free because one of my Nephews is allergic.
My kids only wanted a few chocolates this year so I only made this for my Son. I got the idea to alter this giant hopping chick- after seeing the idea on Kim's blog here.

For friends, I also altered a few Easter pieces that I picked-up at Michaels.
I noticed these Peep doughnuts at Dunkin' Donuts in Florida. Don't they look delicious?
I also spotted a Peep Yankee candle. There's always so much variety in the States.
That about covers Easter. I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend!

Defrosting myself in Florida

I just spent the last 10 days defrosting myself in sunny Florida! We were lucky to get really hot weather all week. We rented a house with a pool- with our Niece an Nephews family.
We went to Animal Kingdom, Universal Studios, the Everglades and visited my parents who were vacationing further south.
We ate alligator and shark and discovered this awesome consignment store for things only found on boats. I bought cheap maps, and a mini surf board for my Sons' room. Isn't my Nieces Daughter so cute?
My Niece and I snuck away to go shopping at the huge outlet malls and we  even hit some antique stores.
These vintage beach toys that sift sand- are my favorite finds. They are very expensive on e-bay and I got them at a great price. I will be displaying them next to my beach pail collection.

We'll be home soon and I intend to pack the sun into my luggage- and to bring it home to freezing cold Canada.

This and That

I started antiquing again and the excitement never wears off. Antiquing just makes my day!
I recently bought a silly book called 'Creepy-Ass Dolls' and it was so funny to see the description of the book on the envelope. I wonder what my post-man was thinking?!

I also bought some fabric book binding tape and used it to bind these journals. For the covers, I used an old photo album and story book cover.

For my Daughters' journal, I used rings to hold the pages together- since it was a small book.

Before I go, I just wanted to wish my Handsome DH a wonderful birthday. He loves to hunt a little too much but at least he says I am his best 'catch' ever! ;) Have a great rest of the week!

Let the sunshine in, face it with a grin...

I put a few of my favorite Easter decorations out on display this week.

Their pastel colors really brighten up the place.

My new embroidered pieces also brought the sun shine in.

This old camera that I just spray-painted- is so cheerful.

Oh and I can't leave out this adorable deer pillow that I got on Society 6. It definitely makes me grin :)
As far as actual sun light, we are finally getting a few days of sunshine with above zero weather. I noticed a bunch of Robins the other day, so I am hopeful that warmer weather is around the corner. Happy Spring!

Easter Goodness

The other day I was looking back at my past Easter creations and was inspired to make more.

I saved this chocolate egg-shaped packaging last year and used it to make this sweet diorama.
I was happy to finally use one of my many floral signs- for this ensemble.

My pink haired bunny doll turned out so cute- for this piece!

Now if only I could figure out what to do with this adorable large ducky gift card image. I got the whole set just $5.

St.Pats and lots of Inspiration

Just wanted to stop by and wish you a lucky St.Patti's Day! Let me what fun plans you may have today :) I'm just going to relax now that the kids are back at school after Spring break.
I have been feeling very inspired lately. I altered this dollar store globe into a chalk board- after seeing the idea on Instagram.
Then I made this duo tang with food packages, and filled it with my favorite recipes from Pinterest. You can see my recipes here.
I got the idea to decoupage my old make-up train  case- from this Sisters on the Fly book.
I used my most favorite images from a 1950s French text book. I LOVE the way it turned out.
'Ill be back soon with some Easter goodness. Thanks for stopping by!

Dealing with the Winter

This winter has been so cold and so long. I decided to make the best of it and have often taken my kids skating and tobogganing. They are actually home for 'Spring' break this week.

I received belated birthday goodies from Grace the other day. One of the items was a cute milk truck full of adorable Claudine Hellmuth die cuts.

I already used one of the tea cups on one of my journal pages.
Tammy was also in town and we had such a good time catching up at my place.

Other than that, I am starting to collect old furniture to restore. Check out these adorable toad stool stools :) I just had to get them for my kids when I spotted them at Home Depot.
